Whats is "VMI"?
VMI stands for Vendor Managed Inventory:
A means of optimizing Supply Chain performance in which the manufacturer is responsible for maintaining the distributor’s inventory levels. The supplier has access to the customers inventory data and is responsible for delivery efficiency.
Dedicated VMI Systems offers a remote system for managing liquid, gas or bulk product inventory, notifying the supplier and the customer of stock levels and, automatically or at their convenience, when resupply is necessary. Therefore, the Supplier is able to see and manage their inventory remotely.
Hardware
The eVMI DATAengine remote terminal unit (RTU) is the client site based hardware element of eVMI - the new generation internet based bulk supply chain remote silo/tank level monitoring and alarming system from Dedicated VMI Systems.
Based on over a decade of field use and development the new generation DATAengine acts as the local silos/tanks levels data capture unit (DCU) and telemetry interface.
It automatically collects silo/tank level readings and communicates the data to the internet based eVMI system - for remote web visualisation by suppliers, customers and third party logistics providers. Information can be accessed by any web browser on PC, mobile or PDA.
The eVMI DATAengine feed silo/tank level readings into the eVMI web secure centralised storage facility.
All authorised users access the same up to date information at the same time, through password protected web pages using any standard internet browser, eg. Microsoft Internet Explorer.

Platform
The platform is the main interface in the Dedicated VMI System. Authorised users can access the system over a variety of web enabled formats, from PC’s and laptop’s, through PDA’s to WAP mobile phones. Users can access the system at any moment to monitor the levels of their stock. Site data is visualised and accessed through username/password protected, menu driven, hierarchical, standard web pages, using standard web browsers like Microsoft Explorer, Firefox or Safari. No local software has to be licensed, installed, run or maintained - so any number of (authorised) users can access the same information at any one time.
Platform features include full stock level updates including detailed stock summaries of day, week and month trends. The platform also allows users to analyse stock deliveries and full site histories. All data is fully downloadable.
In addition to routine automated remote monitoring and data collection the platform supports a fully configured integrated events and alarms package, which constantly monitors for system errors or operational ‘out of limits’, automatically logging all events and immediately notifying relevant personnel through a comprehensive alerts regime which manages contact lists, sequences and timings.
